What you need before you redeem
- The Epic Games account you play on, with your consoles linked. V-Bucks, balance and items belong to an Epic Games account. If you play on a console, open Linked accounts, select Link under the platform and follow the steps. Switching to a different console account later means removing a linking restriction, so link the right one.
- A code for your account's country. Fortnite gift cards and V-Bucks cards only redeem on Epic accounts from their country or region (see below). On Gameplug the region is in the product name.
- Account Balance switched on (Fortnite gift cards). Read and accept the Account Balance terms on the Payment Settings page before you redeem a Fortnite gift card.
- Room under the balance limit. An Epic account balance cannot exceed 500 USD (600 CAD) in the US and Canada, or 150 USD (200 CAD) without two-factor authentication; 250 euros in Germany; 3,500 USD or the peso equivalent in Mexico.
- A parent, for some younger players. With a Cabined Account, a Fortnite gift card can be spent in Epic's games such as Fortnite, but not on Fortnite Crew, until a parent or guardian finishes setting up the account.
