What is a PlayStation Store gift card?
PlayStation Store gift cards go by several names: PSN cards, PSN codes, PlayStation Network cards or PlayStation vouchers. They are all the same thing — a prepaid code worth a fixed amount in one currency. When you redeem it, that amount is added to the wallet of your PlayStation account.
Wallet funds are not tied to one console. The same account wallet is used on PS5, on PS4 and in the PlayStation Store in a web browser, so you can top up on one device and spend on another.
What you can buy with wallet funds
- Full games and pre-orders from the PlayStation Store.
- Add-ons, expansions, season passes and DLC.
- In-game currency sold through the store, such as V-Bucks, FC Points or COD Points for the PlayStation versions of those games.
- PlayStation Plus memberships (Essential, Extra and Premium — tier names and availability vary by country).
A gift card is not a game key: it never unlocks a specific title by itself. If you already know which game you want, you can also buy the game directly — browse PlayStation games.
PSN card regions: why the country matters
This is the one rule that decides whether a code works: a PlayStation voucher only redeems on an account registered in the same country it was issued for. A card for Germany works on a German account, a UK card on a UK account, a US card on a US account. The country printed on every card on this page is the country it redeems in.
Your account country is chosen when the account is created, and Sony does not let you change it later. That also fixes the currency of your wallet — a German account holds euros, a UK account holds pounds, a US account holds dollars.
How to check your account country
- Open the PlayStation Store on your console or on the web and look at the currency prices are shown in. Euro prices mean a eurozone account, pound prices a UK account, and so on.
