In short
- Check which Amazon site your card is for: it is in the product name (for example, "Amazon Gift Card US" is for amazon.com).
- Sign in on that Amazon site with the account that should get the balance.
- Open the gift card section and choose to redeem a gift card (on amazon.com: Gift Cards > Redeem Gift Cards).
- Enter the claim code from your Gameplug order and select Apply to Your Balance.
What you need before you redeem
- An account on the card's Amazon site. Amazon.com says its gift cards can only be used for eligible goods and services on Amazon.com and certain related sites, and that cards for Amazon websites in other countries are sold for those sites. Sign in on the site that matches your card.
- The right account, signed in. The balance goes to the account you are signed in to when you redeem. If several people use the same computer or phone, check the account name before you start.
- The claim code. Amazon calls the code of a gift card its claim code: 14 or 15 characters, usually letters and numbers. Copy it from your Gameplug order exactly as it is shown.
- Not for other gift cards. Amazon says a gift card cannot be used to buy other gift cards.
- Something eligible to spend it on. Gift card balance pays for eligible goods and services on that Amazon site. Each site's gift card terms say what the balance can and cannot be used for.
How to redeem an Amazon gift card, step by step
You can add a claim code to your balance on the Amazon website or in the Amazon app. Whichever you use, do it on the Amazon site the card belongs to.
