- Copy the 25-character code from your Gameplug order.
- Check your current plan and end date under Subscriptions so you know how the code will apply.
- Open redeem.microsoft.com, or on Xbox open Store, press the View button and select Redeem.
- Enter the code, select Next and confirm.
- Afterwards, check whether recurring billing is on if you do not want the plan to renew.
What you need before you redeem
- The right Microsoft account, signed in. Microsoft says redeemed codes cannot be moved to another account. On a PC, the Xbox app should use the same Microsoft account for your Xbox profile and the Microsoft Store, or Game Pass may not be recognised.
- A code for your account's country. Microsoft says Game Pass subscription cards can only be redeemed in the country or region where they were sold. The region of every Gameplug product is in its name and on its product page before you pay.
- Room under the extension limit. Game Pass can only be extended a certain number of months ahead (13 or 36 months depending on plan and country). Check your end date first.
- A code your account can accept. Microsoft notes that some Game Pass codes are meant for new members only and may not redeem on an account that has, or has had, a subscription. These are often sold as non-stackable codes; the product page says so.
- Billing details, if Microsoft asks. You may be asked for a payment option before redeeming. Microsoft says redeeming the code does not charge you.
- An account in good standing. Codes may not redeem while the account is suspended or has a past-due balance.
