How digital gift cards work

A digital gift card is a code instead of a plastic card. It has a fixed value in one currency, and when you redeem it with the brand that issued it, that value is added to your account balance or wallet. From there you spend it the way you would spend any balance with that brand: on games and add-ons, apps, subscriptions or shopping.

On Gameplug you choose the brand, the country and the amount, pay, and a link to reveal your code is emailed to you seconds after payment is confirmed. The code is also saved under My Orders in your account, so you can open it again at any time.

Store balance cards (PlayStation, Steam, Xbox, Nintendo, Apple, Google Play, Roblox) add funds to an account you then spend inside that store.
Service cards such as Netflix pay for a subscription from the balance until it is used up.
Shopping cards such as Amazon add balance you spend on that retailer's site in the matching country.
Top-up credit such as Razer Gold adds credit you can spend in the games and stores that accept it.

Gift card regions and currencies: the rule that matters

Most gift cards are issued for one country. A card usually only redeems on an account registered in that country, and its value is in that country's currency. A UK card holds pounds for a UK account; a German card holds euros for a German account; a US card holds dollars for a US account.

That is why every card on Gameplug shows its country in the name and on the product page. Match it to the country of the account you will redeem it on — which is not always the country you live in today.

How to check the right country

Open the store or app you will redeem in and look at the currency prices are shown in.
For the exact country, look in the account settings of that service — most list the account's country or region.
Buying for someone else? Ask which country their account is set to before you order.

Once a code has been revealed it cannot be returned, so if you are not sure which country fits, ask our support before buying.

Redeeming a gift card and getting help

Every product page shows the official redemption steps for that brand and links to its official redeem page. In general, you sign in to the account that should receive the funds, open the redeem or "add a code" option and enter the code exactly as shown.

Re-type a code rather than pasting if it is refused, and watch for similar characters (0 and O, 1 and I).
Check you are signed in to the account you meant to top up, in the right country.
If it still fails, contact support with your order number. We check codes that will not redeem, and confirmed-invalid codes are replaced or refunded under our refund policy.

You can pay by card or with crypto at checkout. Curious how we source codes? Read is Gameplug legit?.

Frequently asked questions

Do gift cards work in every country?

Usually not. Most gift cards only redeem on accounts registered in the country they were issued for, and hold that country's currency. The country is shown on every card we sell.

How quickly are gift card codes delivered?

Usually within seconds of your payment being confirmed. A link to reveal your code is emailed to you, and the code is also saved under My Orders in your Gameplug account.

Can I send a gift card to someone else?

Yes. Buy the card for the country of the recipient's account and forward them the code. Check their account country first.

Can I use several gift cards on one account?

For most brands, yes — each code adds to the balance. Some services cap the maximum balance an account can hold.
