Faces of War

Take command. Take cover. Take the fight head-on.

The second instalment in the series that would become known as Men of War! Faces of War puts you in the heart of World War II – not as a distant commander, but as the leader on the ground. Combining the tactical depth of real-time strategy with the immediacy of direct control, it lets you issue precise orders or jump straight into battle as one of your soldiers.

Lead Allied, German, or Soviet forces through the decisive European campaigns of 1944–1945. Coordinate ambushes, flanking maneuvers, and armored assaults across battlefields that react to your every move. Every explosion reshapes the terrain, every bullet counts, and survival depends on quick thinking rather than scripted events.

Faces of War delivers a visceral and cinematic World War II experience defined by realism, scale, and tactical freedom. Each battle unfolds differently depending on your strategy and how you use the environment to your advantage. Leadership, instinct, and resourcefulness matter more than numbers – there are no front lines, no safety, only the fight. Key features:

Real-time tactical combat – control entire squads or take command of a single soldier for precise on-the-ground action.

Dynamic, destructible environments – use collapsing walls, craters, and debris as cover or traps.

Authentic WWII warfare – command Allied, German, and Soviet troops across Europe’s most intense battlefields.

Advanced AI – your soldiers think, react, and adapt to changing conditions in real time.

Full physics simulation – bullets, vehicles, and explosions behave with weight and realism.

Multiplayer and mission editor – create your own scenarios or battle others in skirmishes and cooperative play. Faces of War is affected by the GameSpy shutdown on the 31st of May. You can continue to play the game through LAN, DirectIP and GameRanger.
